No, it’s not Dumbo. But, perhaps a releative. An African bull elephant was airlifted out of the Jungle Cruise via helicopter early one morning in May. He was taken backstage to see his vet and get some TLC. About every 8 years or so, the Jungle Cruise elephants are given a “check-up,” which takes about 7 weeks. The elephant will return to the Jungle Cruise once his vet has given clearance. See a video of the flying elephant in action below…

With 6 hit movies, television shows, merchandise, and theme park attractions; the Star Wars universe has always been a vital part of geek lifestyle. Way back in 1987, the creative forces of George Lucas and Disney teamed up to create new way to experience Star Wars with the debut of Star Tours. A simulated galactic flight to the Moon of Endor, with a few pit-stops along the way. Star Tours opened to huge crowds and rave reviews. The attraction was truly innovative in design and scope.
But, fast forward to 2009 and the Star Tours attraction has begun to show it’s age. What was once a state of the art, high-tech thrill ride through the stars became stale and predictable. All that changed this last weekend. (more…)
